On November 2nd, we will reissue The Mercury Program’s third full-length A Data Learn the Language on 2xLP.
Long out of print and extremely hard to find on wax, the record has been recut by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service and will be pressed on colored vinyl with a gatefold sleeve. To celebrate the release, the band will head out for two weeks worth of concert dates across the East coast. These shows will include two full sets — the first set consists of songs drawn from Chez Viking (2009) and New Myths (2016), followed by a second set featuring of A Data Learn the Language performed in its entirety.
Some background: originally released in 2002 on CD by Tiger Style, the vinyl version of A Data Learn the Language was left to Counterflow Records. However, as that label became caught up in legal and financial difficulties, the bulk of the pressing mysteriously disappeared. Fewer than 100 copies wound up making it into circulation.
